Transient Occupancy Tax

TOT

A tax imposed on short-term lodging by local governments. Also called hotel tax, bed tax, or lodging tax. Rates typically range from 6-15% of the rental amount. Some OTAs collect and remit TOT automatically; direct bookings often require manual collection.
